Gunnar and friends...

Everyone knows Gunnar.  He is our constant companion, assistant instructor and respiratory therapist here at Florida Heart.  You won't hear him much, he just lays around and sleeps, and occasionally plays "ambu" with his friends and fellow students.

Gunnar was adopted from an animal shelter several years ago after having been abandoned by a family in Lake County.  After seeing his photo in an email from a rescue group, we immediately adopted him, and he lives with Gayl near the beach and is big brother to several other dogs at home. On this page we will share photos of our buddy when we get some good ones, and also you can usually find Gunnar on our Facebook page:

Recently I lost some of my siblings. I would like to remember my older sister, Besa.  She was 16 years old and always had the best attitude.   Mom had her for 13 of those years and loved her dearly.  I also lost Boo, my sweet black kitty friend, to a brain tumor at the tender age of 7.  And last, LBK (short for Little Black Kitty) died tragically at the ripe old age of 17.   I will miss them all and remember them for welcoming me into the family with such love and graciousness.   I will miss all of you!

This is me at home at my beach house

This is my friend Rudy.         My ambu has my name on it.

This is my human, Gayl.  She takes me places, like the beach and the barn. I chase horses, birds, whatever.  They all look good to me!

Sometimes, during classes, I get really tired.    Therefore, the entire   Florida Heart office has become my bedroom.

These are my friends at home.  They sleep a lot, but play really hard.  Mom had to get them their own couch.  And that's me on the right, laying around at the barn, waiting for mom to clean up horse poop. Stinky job, I must say!

Below are some of the lovely ladies (and men) of the HOSA class at Vero Beach High School. They called me their "Mascot". (Whatever that means)

I really am a handsome fellow.  Who could resist me?

This is me in the garden.  The green really goes with
my eyes, don't you think?
